MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES We serve individuals struggling to overcome barriers that restrict their access to mental health services. We often assist them in obtaining therapy so vital to their well being. Therapy is usually in the form of therapeutic counseling by trained therapists under contract with select northern Virginia community services organizations. Many of those who will seek our assistance suffer from depression, bi-polar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder and other anxiety induced conditions. We seek to also serve those struggling in the earlier phases of the diagnostic process. Assistance and referral to physicians for the supervised administration of medication to stabilize patients to enhance positive therapeutic outcomes is also provided. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE Financial assistance may be provided to those unable to access the care they need on a needs-based basis. REFERRAL SERVICE Unfortunately, some mental health cases are beyond the ability and means of Access Hope to address. For these cases, Access Hope provides an extensive array of community referrals to assist in obtaining needed services from other established mental health service organizations in our community. PUBLIC AWARENESS "Ignorance breeds contempt" Too many people, including victims, their friends and families, underestimate the level of anxiety and suffering endured by so many around us, most often in silence and solitude. Access Hope enhances awareness of this circumstance, educates people on the debilitating effects of mental illness and the positive outcome available through therapy, and encourages intervention and support.
